Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is blood plasma with concentrated platelets (the body’s repairmen for damaged tissue). The concentrated platelets found in PRP contain growth factors that are vital to initiate and accelerate tissue repair and regeneration. This initiates tissue healing and repair, promotes development of new blood vessels, and stimulate the natural healing process.

Platelet Rich Plasma is derived by placing a small amount of your blood in a filtration system which separates red blood cells from platelets. The high concentration of platelets (containing a high level of growth factor) is then injected into the injured tissue which initiates the body’s natural healing response. This increases the concentration of growth factors at the site of injury by up to 500%. By having a PRP injection, we aim to stimulate your body’s ability to heal chronic conditions.
